Look people neither black sabbath nor death metal is goth/darkwave music.
Does goth music inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos count? Because I have some of that.
why do some people think screamo or metal music, or darkwave sounds scary?

*sigh* if you don’t stick to the question then don’t say anything at all. we all are entitled to our own opinons. we just sometimes don’t like to hear negative ones.
i like screamo and metal
but some people believe that it’s devil’s music because it sounds so monstrous. just don’t listen to it around them, or at least turn it down, you don’t want to make your friends cry.
I like Shoegazing music from what I have heard from it. I have also heard that if I like Shoegazing music that I will like Darkwave music. Anyway, any recommendations?

You might also be interested in ethereal wave, a different subgenre of DW. Personally, I don’t especially like what I have heard, but it’s not bad – it’s just a bit too meh for me (although I do like a few bands, I’m just speaking overall). Try Black Tape for a Blue Girl.

The thing is, these genres often overlap each other and I find that I am just as likely to enjoy, say, a dark ambient subgenre as I am darkwave. So just stay open to music, is all I’m saying. ;D
