Well, ok, he’s actually trying to eat my feet, but that’s almost dancing! The song is “Caught” by Razed in Black from the Sacrificed album. The whole album is excellent.

The goth subculture is a contemporary culture found in many countries. It began in the United Kingdom during the early 1980s in the gothic rock scene, an offshoot of the post-punk genre.

The goth subculture has survived much longer than others of the same era, and has continued to diversify.

doing a project for school i gotta know the different styles of goth music?

Author: admin  //  Category: Goth Music

What is there besides Death metal and Black metal? I know theres this really cool low voice slow speaking songs where they speak through it i love that style what is that stuff categorized as? And can anybody tell me some songs that are like that if u understand what im talking about i hope that im clear enough its not like ur typical metal for all i know it might not be metal but its definetly goth and i really enjoy it

Actually goth music isn’t related to metal at all and it came out of punk and post-punk in the last ’70s and early ’80s. As for different styles of goth music, there’s a number of them, but some of the main ones:
-deathrock, which is kind of almost a darker form of punk, originally came out of Los Angeles in the late ’70s with bands like Christian Death and 45 Grave
-batcave, not truly around anymore as it’s the genre for bands that came out of a club named the Batcave that opened in London in I think ‘82, and the music is kind of glam influenced, bands like Specimen and Alien Sex Fiend
-goth rock – has more of a guitar influence, bands like Sisters of Mercy and The Mission UK
-and then there’s a band like Bauhaus, for example, who were one of the first goth bands and essentially I don’t know what they would be called besides just plain old goth

There’s other subgenres too, but those would be the main ones that I’m into, so they’re the ones I can describe the best. The wikipedia page – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goth_subculture goes into more detail about goth music and related genres (although there’s many genres that some goths listen to [industrial, for example] but musically are something entirely different from goth music]).

What is some awesome Goth music that is not entirely screaming?

Author: admin  //  Category: Goth Music

I love gothic type music but sometimes it’s hard to find any that isn’t just people screaming. I would like to know artists and song names if possible.

Person above me is right. There isn’t really screaming in goth music. Try these bands and songs:
A Spectre is Haunting Europe – "See You Inside"
All Gone Dead – "Just 80 Miles West"
Bauhaus – "Hollow Hills"
Bella Morte – "Funeral Night"
Christian Death – "Spiritual Cramp"
Cinema Strange – "En Hiver"
Clan of Xymox – "Jasmine and Rose"
Frank the Baptist – "Falling Stars"
The Ghost of Lemora – "Beauty Can’t Die"
Killing Miranda – "Salome"
Kommunity FK – "Something Inside Me Has Died"
London After Midnight – "Shatter (All My Dead Friends)"
The Mission UK – "Wasteland"
Play Dead – "The Tenant"
Screams for Tina – "Eleven Eleven"
Siouxsie and the Banshees – "Cities in Dust"
Specimen – "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"

In the uk, when was the first labelling of the goth music movement in the 1980s?

Author: admin  //  Category: Goth Music

I’ve read up about the ‘positive punk’ post punk movement (written in nme in 1983) which led to bands like siouxsie and the banshees etc in the early 80s but i would like to know when bands were first acknowledged as goth. thanks

Actually the first refference was made as an insult in a review of Siouxsie and the Banshees in a music magazine… They reffered to the bands music as being "gothic", which is an old german term for barbaric. (Though some instead attribute it to the review of UK Decay in 1981, though this occurred later)

The term goth in refference to the subculture really did not start untill later in 1983 though.

I need something new to listen to. What are some good goth music or rock bands out there?

Author: admin  //  Category: Goth Music

I don’t care what it is. How outlandish. The crazier the better. I need an adrenaline high and I always succeeded at getting that by listening to rock music. I don’t care if its metal,j-rock. anything. Even if it has a horrible message behind it just suggest anything.

here are some of my faves…
-bring me the horizon
-behemoth
-trivium
-i killed the prom queen
-as blood runs black
-breathe carolina
-millionaires
-far from the tree (local in orlando)
-oh romeo! (local in orlando)
-mayday! cried the captain
-abandon all ships!
-i see stars
-a skylit drive
-the devil wears prada
-underoath
-eatmewhileimhot!
-attack attack!
-surrender the dance floor
-blood on the dance floor
-preschool tea party massacre
-norma jean
-blessthefall
-on broken wings
&& thats all i can think of ATM but i hope
this helped :3
